Road to Jump Range

One of the most important steps in Elite Dangerous is getting you ships’ jump ranges up over 30 light years (30lys). Here is a good path to follow on your journey for better jump range.

Exploration Ship #

First thing you’ll need is a starter Explorer ship.

Unlock Felicity Farseer #

The next thing you’ll need to do is unlock the engineer called Felicity Farseer. Once you unlock her, she will be able to modify your Frame Shift Drive modules to allow for much greater jump ranges on all of your ships. The next video shows how to unlock her. (This video is outdated in one topic. See the paragraph below the video for updated details.)

Here are the updated details on how to find the Thargoid site. You no longer need planetary coordinates. Map the Pleiades Sector OI-T C3-7 A 6 with your Detailed Surface Scanner (which should already be on your exploration ship). Then, target and fly to Thargoid Barnacle (3) signal on the planet’s surface.

Guardian FSD Booster #

When you are ready for the next leap forward in jump range, the Guardian FSD Booster module is a must. Earning this module literally involves solving a puzzle, as noted in the next video.

Although not necessary, the tool suggested in the FSD Booster Unlock video is found at https://CMDRs-Toolbox.com.

Guardian site is found in the system of Synuefe NL-N C23-4 on planet B 3. Map the planet with your DSS to find the Guardian site and land as close as possible to the structures there.

Exploration Camp C-N04 is found in the system Synuefe JB-G b58-6 on planet 6 h. Again, map the moon with your DSS to find the camp site and land nearby. Alternatively, you can farm at the famous Dav’s Hope.

To find a nearby Guardian Technology broker, use the search on Inara website.

• 21 Guardian Power Cells
• 21 Guardian Technology Components
• 24 Focus Crystals
• 8 HN Shock Mount

Once you’ve unlocked Guardian FSD Booster, you can buy one anytime there after with credits, as noted in the above video.
