Gonz is a native of Kremainn. His parents were scientists at a settlement on Kremainn 2 A. At a young age, Gonz learned much about chemistry and metallurgy, and how these materials could be used. Studying these, however, became tasking and tiresome, and his eyes began to point skyward. He knew there was more out there to be explored, and wanted to see it firsthand. As soon as he was able to get his license to operate a ship, he purchased his first sidewinder and left the settlement in 3297. He didn’t go far though, finding a new home in Wohler Terminal. He began taking bounty hunting contracts to make a quick buck, but mainly took courier jobs for a more consistent cash flow. His first big venture began with a Lakon Type-7 Transporter fitted for mining, and he took to the Kremainn belts to really start seeing his income increase. He found mining to be incredibly satisfying, and is really his guilty pleasure to this day. His teachings of days passed from his parents finally came in handy, and his detection of precious metals was unrivaled. The money really came flowing in, allowing him to purchase better modules and larger ships. His mining brought him to his current homeworld of Irula, which acted as his homebase while he travelled to Borann during the Low Temp Diamonds boom. Out in the mining fields during the boom, he met Leanyy, and while Leanyy’s incredibly mysterious demeanor absolutely clashed with Gonz’s upbeat and outgoing attitude, they somehow got along well and made a pact to stick together.

In 3300, Gonz purchased his first passenger liner, a brand-new Saud Kruger Orca, and began operating sightseeing tours within the system for a steady income. Though sightseeing tours were enjoyable and Gonz had managed to get his liner into the top 1% of all liners out there, he knew there was still more to see. Gonz had a goal in mind and knew what he needed to reach it, which is how Aisling Duval enters his story. While hosting his sightseeing tours, he began climbing the ranks of the Imperial Navy, primarily through donations and spreading propaganda throughout neighboring star systems. He climbed the ranks quickly, and in just a couple months, Gonz achieved the rank of Duke, and purchased himself his dream ship, the Gutamaya Imperial Cutter. At this point, he finally had everything he needed to work his dream job of making money and seeing the galaxy, and fitted the Cutter for trading. It was during a trading mission a few years later that Gonz met De Cypher. The Pilots Trade Network was hosting a major convoy of carriers up to Rackham’s Peak in HIP 58832, and they were both lost in the sauce trying to get up to the peak. They came together on a carrier that was jumping upwards, and the rest is history.
